Student Recruitment


We are looking for students who are strongly motivated to create new value through small data analysis. Our aim is to foster data scientists who understand, not only mathematics and computer science such as analysis algorithms, but also "data itself" through collection, experimentation, and analysis of actual data.
 
Making use of abundant research funds, we provide, in addition to a good research environment such as Macbooks and a cloud environment, opportunities to present at domestic and international conferences, and to interact with people in various fields (doctors, lawyers, researchers, media, government personnel, etc.) through social gatherings.
 
We welcome light-footed students who can proactively work together with people in different fields to solve social problems, and who can grow to become a hub that connects various people.

Computer environment


In our lab, we provide all students with a large desk and the latest PC and dual display environment, to maintain a comfortable research environment. In terms of PCs, the freshmen are required to build the PCs they will themselves used, so that they can also learn the hardware. We proactively purchase books, such as textbooks and technical books, based on the request of students.

Facilities


学生居室は,2019年3月中旬に改装予定です.

セミナ室は2019年度中に改装予定です.

名古屋大学には,現在,実験室はありませんが,京都大学ヒューマンシステム論分野の実験設備が利用可能です.京都大学では脳波計(grapevain, Ripple Inc.)や各種センサ類を用いた生体計測実験,ドライビングシミュレータ(UC-win/Road, FORUM8)を用いた被験者実験が可能です.さらに,電子工作用のパーツ・工具類,データロガー(NI-DAQ)マイコンボード(Arduinoなど),アプリ開発用Android端末を用意しており,ラピッドプロトタイピング環境を整備しています.そのため,被験者実験からデータ解析,ハードウェア・ソフトウェア開発まで一貫して行えます.
 
研究テーマによっては,日本各地の共同研究先の施設や実験フィールドにおいて臨床データ切り出しや被験者実験,動物実験を実施します.なお,名古屋大学においても,できるだけ早期に実験室を整備する予定です.
